GATHERING EVIDENCE
THE QUESTIONNAIRE
We would like everyone to think about what matters to them about where they live and how they see East Clandon going forward.
Will it be the same as now? Is there something missing? Or is it completely different? What do your children think? It would be lovely to know what the younger generation like or dislike about where they live. Maybe they would like to send a drawing of something they like about East Clandon now or what they would like to see in East Clandon in the future.
As an essential first step we are asking ALL East Clandon Residents, and other stakeholders, to take a few minutes to complete our questionnaire. A link to the online version can be found on the website EastClandonNP.org. Alternatively you can print out and complete by hand the questionnaire that was emailed using the village email system or download and print from the website and return to:

What Matters To You?
Here are some things that may or not matter to you.
Maybe you have a completely different set of concerns
Transport/Roads
Traffic speed or volume; too much?. Do we have enough public transport? State of the roads? Parking? What are your thoughts?

Footpaths / Cycling / Byways
How important are the footpaths, bridleways and byways to you? Can we be doing more to take advantage of them. Should new ones be adopted?

Housing / Development
Should we be doing more to encourage housing development in East Clandon and if so what kind of housing is required.

Biodiversity
East Clandon Parish Council has been actively pursuing a policy of wilding to help maintain wildlife habitats and encourage biodiversity. Should we be doing more or should our resources be directed elsewhere?

Green Belt & Protected Views
Our parish is ‘washed over’ with the Green Belt but this does not preclude certain development or prevent areas being removed from the Green Belt in the future as has happened in many neighbouring parishes. What do you think about this?

Traffic
Does the amount of traffic coming through the village concern you? Or perhaps vehicle speed is your main concern.

Protection of Village Assets
The Pub, Church, Village Hall, Playground and Tennis court are all assets of the village. Should we try to protect them formally in our village plan.

Sustainability/Climate Change
Many of us are concerned about the future of our planet. What are your thoughts about sustainable development; rooftop solar panels, community ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, wind power...?

Light Pollution/Dark Skies
Light pollution impinges on wildlife habitats. Should we discourage overly light polluting development?
